Free Educational Opportunity for West Virginia Veterans
Veterans Upward Bound is a free educational program for military Veterans. It is a U.S. Department of Education TRIO program, and it is funded by a competitive grant. Participants in VUB receive preparation for success at Davis & Elkins College, other colleges and universities, and a variety of post-high school career and technical training institutions.

An Individualized Educational Program for Each Veteran

Each participant is given an individualized education plan after testing and assessment of educational and career goals. Veterans work at their own pace, concentrating only on the subjects needing improvement. This enables an individual to start at any time and finish when ready to enter a post-secondary school.

No Cost to Eligible Veterans

All services and materials are provided free to program participants. To help offset some of the miscellaneous costs associated with attending the program, a stipend is prorated according to attendance in scheduled classes and completing required testing and paperwork. Veterans may be eligible for a stipend not to exceed $40.00 per month.
